The ‘Great Rhode Island Challah Bake’ 2018

Women and girls gathered again this year to bake challah during the great Rhode Island Challah Bake. On Oct. 25, more than 150 participants mixed and kneaded the dough in the Baxt Family Social Hall at the Alliance’s Dwares Jewish Community Center in Providence. Everyone went home with two challahs to bake. The event was part of the worldwide Shabbat Project that encourages all Jews to add some observance of Shabbat to their lives. Challah Bakes are held across the globe on the same night. This event is sponsored by the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island and Kollel/Project Shoresh.
