Rabbi Jim Rosenberg’s article recalls sad memories. Berlin’s efforts are commendable no doubt. I experienced what the Germans now call the “Progromnacht,” and I question whether clever thermometer signs can counteract ingrained, virulent German anti-Semitism. Hitler had a receptive population, and though many young people may harbor less prejudice, I strongly feel that anti-Semitism remains part of the German psyche.
