At Barrington High School, Josh earned a cumulative GPA of 3.82 to meet the academic requirement. A 3.85 GPA would have placed him the First Team Academic All American.
A five-time Rhode Island State All-Around Champion and a two-time New England Regional All-Around Champion, he is qualified to compete in the Junior Olympic National Championships. Involved in gymnastics for 14 years, he has competed for East Bay Gymnastics in Bristol, coached by Jarod Pelletier. Parents of the bride are Chaya and Ya’acov Mandelkorn of Naveh Daniel. The groom’s parents are Naomi and Ya’akov Kenig of Kibbutz Tirat-Zvi. Maternal grandparents are Anne Schwartz and the late Charles Schwartz of Providence. Paternal grandparents are Tehila and Joseph Mandelkorn of Jerusalem, Israel. After completing army service with Sherut Le-umi, (volunteer to my nation), the bride is currently pursuing a degree in the field of reflexology at Ridman College, Jerualem. During the June 18 ceremony at the Rhode Island State House, Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Kilmartin recognized Teitz and others for their commitment to education and the community.
Scholarship recipients are chosen based on their outstanding academic achievement; community service; and interest in pursuing a career in communications, telecommunications, technology or engineering fields. Teitz is the daughter of Lois and Andrew Teitz. She will study journalism (broadcasting) at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. | |
